Geology, Mineralization & Remote Sensing of the Comstock District, Nevada

INTRODUCTION
Welcome to the Geological Society of Nevada’s 2005 Symposium Window to the World field trip 10. We will visit the famous Comstock District. On this field trip we will review the geology, alteration and mineral deposits of this very complex district plus integrate remote sensing techniques as applied to exploration.
The field trip will begin in Sparks on Friday morning, May 20. We will drive to Virginia City where several stops will try to illustrate important aspects of hydrothermal alteration recognition by field and remote sensing techniques. We will return to Sparks in the late afternoon.
