Geophysical prospecting techniques have been extensively applied in exploration
\nfor Carlin-type and intrusion-related gold deposits in the North-central Great Basin.
\nPhysical property contrasts are generally very subtle between unaltered rocks and
\nrocks which have undergone alteration associated with mineralization. Therefore, direct
\ndetection of these target types using geophysics is challenging. Similarly, no systematic
\ngeophysical exploration approach exists in the Great Basin as the physical
\nproperties of host rocks are themselves highly variable. Comprehensive physical
\nproperty studies characterizing host rocks and the structural, hydrothermal, and
\nmetamorphic events which overprint them can determine which, if any, geophysical
\nmethods will be effective. These studies, coupled with a strong understanding of geological
\ncontrols on mineralization, will ensure the effective application of geophysics
\nin an exploration program.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":4484,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","template":"","meta":{"pmpro_default_level":""},"product_cat":[154],"product_tag":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.gsnv.org\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/product\/2458"}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.gsnv.org\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/product"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.gsnv.org\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/product"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.gsnv.org\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=2458"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.gsnv.org\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/4484"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.gsnv.org\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=2458"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"product_cat","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.gsnv.org\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/product_cat?post=2458"},{"taxonomy":"product_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.gsnv.org\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/product_tag?post=2458"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
