The Gold Gulch property is located in the Morenci Mining District approximately
\ntwo miles southwest of the Morenci open pit copper mine in Greenlee County, Arizona.
\nImmediately north of the project boundary, minor production of gold from the
\nplacers in Gold Gulch and gold and silver from the Lakenan vein are reported in the
\nliterature. The placer gold in Gold Gulch probably resulted from weathering of the
\nLakenan and\/or other small, sub-parallel veins. Several small pits, adits and shafts
\nwere sunk historically to examine the surface oxide copper shows within the property.
\nSystematic exploration using geologicmapping, geochemical and geophysical surveys
\nand drilling were conducted by Phelps Dodge and Kennecott (Bear Creek) starting in
\nthe 1960\u2019s with copper as the target commodity. Ventura Gold Corporation acquired
\nthe property in 2006 and assembled most of the old spatial data information into a GIS
\ndatabase. Additional surface exploration and diamond drilling,with the principal objective
\nof evaluating the precious metals mineralization of the project area, were conducted.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":4561,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","template":"","meta":{"pmpro_default_level":""},"product_cat":[154],"product_tag":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.gsnv.org\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/product\/2492"}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.gsnv.org\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/product"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.gsnv.org\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/product"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.gsnv.org\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=2492"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.gsnv.org\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/4561"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.gsnv.org\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=2492"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"product_cat","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.gsnv.org\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/product_cat?post=2492"},{"taxonomy":"product_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.gsnv.org\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/product_tag?post=2492"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
